It will be hard for Denver to go into Indy and steal one in the dome. The Broncos are good, but I'll take the Colts in this one.

Despite the fact I'd love to see Peyton win the big one,

LET'S GO BRONCOS, Official Team That's Always Had a Special Place in My Heart! Even though y'all probably don't have a chance! :gulp:

I'm predicting a big upset here. Nothing against Peyton, who had a FANTASTIC year.

I have nothing to base this on. Denver is NOT as bad as they have looked at times. The worst thing that happened to the Broncos so many times this year was the Broncos.

It's on the line now.

I'm pretty sure Shanny will reinforce the fact you must touch a reciever when he is down in order for the play to be whistled dead. However, that piece of fundamental knowledge will not stop the Colts.

You're so right. Theoretically, Denver should have more than a chance in this game, but they haven't played consistently enough for me to give them one enthusiastically. They have the talent on BOTH sides of the ball to do it.

2 words, Peyton Manning. Colts win big, and then give the bye team they face a major problem in the Divisional round

dabomb2045

these two teams met in the wild card game last year....Colts won in a blowout

perhaps it wont be as lopsided this year....but I dont see anyway Denver wins this game.....the Colts will put up their usual 30+ point effort and win comfortably

Yes, I hate the Colts. So it's going to be hard to be objective. However, I think Jake the Snake will do to the Colts what Mark Brunell did to the Broncos in the 1996 season.

GO DENVER!!!

If the Broncos don't get a pass rush on Peyton Manning, Peyton is taking them to school again.

Colts by a romp.

I'm picking the Colts to win 35-20. I just don't think that Denver's defense is good enough to contain Indy's offense.

Hey, I hate the Colts, too, but they are pretty good. Besides, I want Manning-Brady VI. For those who haven't kept score, it's Brady 5, Manning 0. Oh, and Manning has never won at Foxboro or against Brady. Ouch.

I'd like to see what the score would be if Peyton had Brady's defense.

That argument is moot. Last year was Peyton's best shot to date. His defense didn't do him in. They only allowed 24 points. He threw 4 picks, that loss was on him.

Up until this year, Manning had no defense and Brady no offense. (Brady's weapons were not as good as Manning's)

I'm with you on this one George.
I smell an upset.
The fact remains that the worst unit on the field will be the Colts defense(29th in NFL).
The Broncos offense is no slouch (5th in NFL).
If Jake can keep the turnovers to a minimum, they should be able to dominate the Colt's D.

Denver's got the 4th rated defense in the NFL.
They HAVE to put massive pressure on Manning.
That's why the game will larglely depend on Champ Bailey's ability to shut down one of the Indy recievers in one on one coverage.

The AFC games are going to be VERY interesting.
I wouldn't be suprprised with one or two upsets.

I've been a Bronco's fan for years, and this year's model is not a very good football team. Plummer is interception prone, and IMO, it's time for Shannahan to move on.

That said, I don't see Denver winning the game, but I think that they'll cover the 10 points. :)

DaBoys4LifeNYY35
01-05-05, 11:09 PM
Plummer is interception prone

OH REALLY! (Not lashing at YOU, I just can't stand Jake Plummer. Since forever. I'm only tolerating him now because he's in Denver.)

I wanted to break things when I heard the franchise of Elway was going with this yahoo, and the Broncos are only a very, very distant second on the two-team list of NFL teams I like to root for--I can't imagine how someone who's a Bronco's fan first and foremost felt. So what if he's good at 4th quarter comebacks, when, especially in Arizona, he was the main reason his team was behind in the first place?

If only the games on Sundays were a weekly NFL Quarterback Challenge, he'd win the big one or come close every season!

That's smart from the Colts perspective. The Colts didn't need to start their players and scouting Denver's on the bench since the Broncos had to win to get in.

35-3 and it's only halftime.

I was talking to a friend of mine (who isn't watching) over the phone, and I gave him Manning's stats. He was, of course very impressed.

And then I said "And it's halftime"

I thought he was going to choke.

I've never seen a team as afraid to tackle as this Bronco team is. Pathetic. They talk all week and then nothing. It also doesn't help that the officials are calling every incompletion by Manning a penalty on the Broncos.

Oh well, at least next week Peyton won't be at home or in a dome. This game doesn't change my mind about the Colts being soft. Everytime they don't make a play, in their mind, there has to be a penalty. I'm waiting for this call "15-yard Penalty on the Broncos for looking at the Colts WR. Automatic first down."

W/ such a big lead, the defense played sorta laid back in the 2nd half. The Denver TD's bothered me, yes, but had the score been closer, I think the defense plays better there.

Of course, I am happy my boys won. :)
