Huff reached on fielderīs choice to shortstop, Cruz out at second, Huff to second on shortstop Cabreraīs throwing error.

Was this a 6-6-3 or 6-6-1 play where Cabrera threw the ball away to 1B?

Nah, he doesn't seem like a bad kid; it'd be kind of cruel to put him on the Yankees staff with the Melosaur. A good pitching coach could transform him into Cy Young...maybe if New York had another coach, or maybe Billy Connors.

yeah...don't forget that he's a 20 year old rookie. He's not going to be as dominant as he's been tonight thus far consistently without some experience and some solid pitching assistance.

Is Billy mostly a fixer-upper, or does he elbow Joe that a pitcher needs to be taken out? If Mel were somewhat more responsive when a pitcher's clearly spent, I wouldn't mind Billy remaining in the fixer upper role. However, replaying one w/the other would mean that Billy would then be involved in the everyday pitching coach chores, rather than one pitcher at a time, which is what I presume he's doing now.

No, I know he's young. I'm very impressed. I was just surprised that with the quality stuff he has, he got lit up recently. Also, he's done this to the Red Sox once and it looks like it is going to be hard to score runs tonight. He blew a fastball by Ramirez, and you hardly ever see that.

It is up to the ump to determine if a hit after the warning is intentional or not. The ump behind the plate with the best view saw Kazmir's disgusted reaction. He was throwning a no-hitter. He didn't mean to hit Millar that was obvious. It was only after the ump met did the crew chief decide to toss Kazmir.

Clemens stayed in a game against the Rays after he intentionally hit a player after warnings had been issue last season. Umps only pick on pitchers who don't have clout.

I agree, but what's the point of a warning if you don't eject the pitcher after he hits the next batter. That's too bad, I was looking forward to him shutting out the Sox again.

Well if its obvious that it wasn't intentional, they won't toss you

I mean, you see sometimes, after the benches have been warned, the bases are loaded and the pitcher plunks a batter. Its obviously an accident, and they usually dont toss him

Yeah, Manny was the only intentional. I don't think either of Arroyo's were intentional, he just doesn't have great command tonight. Hitting Manny was okay though, Millar not.

Tampa Bay has a pretty good bullpen. We'll see if they can string together the win. Kazmir wasn't throwing at Millar. Not after warnings have been issued. Usually a pitcher will wait until later in the game to retaliate. I'm surprised it happened this early...

Regardless, Arroyo's propensity to hit batters (whether intentional or not) will get one of his teammates hurt one of these days...

You hit the big slugger (rather than angering Manny w/man on 1B).

Millar took a slow step towards the mound but Toby Hall jumped in his way, it didn't look like Millar would have gone all the way anyway, he walked down to first.........FYI, Toby Hall never removed his mask when he jumped in front of Millar ....

Who's in charge at TB now?

They should whip Kazmir publicly f/trying to do keep Boston honest in such a close game.

Ramirez homered to center, Bellhorn scored.

Too late.
