I'm not a huge football fan, but damn. I'm watching the Monday Night Football preseason game between Tennessee and Dallas, and wow. Hi-Def and 5.1 surround make football lots of fun. Giddeup!

All you need now is to get into a good pool, and you'll be totally hooked. PM me if you are interested.;)

I hear you are a Jets fan too. I will also be watching a lot of football this season and will be posting all of my Jets accomplishments here.

I'm about ready to make the plunge into the HDTV world. Jim, do you have any recommendations on sets?

It really depends on so many things, size, budget, existing hardware, etc. I went with a Sony Grand Wega LCD Rear Projection set, but it was pricey. You can get smaller CRT sets that are under $1k.

It took me over a year to decide on the set that I got. It's definitely not an easy decision for someone who is a tightwad like me :).

It sure IS overwhelming, Jim. I really have no idea what I want right now. Is the price tag of over three grand correct for a product comparable to yours?
It looks AWESOME though. Considering just how much time my big, fat, lazy, white ass spends in front of the TV during the winter months though, I think it may be worth it.

This is prime time for shopping because all the mfgers are coming out with the new lines for the holiday season, so all the retailers are closing out their existing inventories.

I got interest free financing through best buy, or I wouldn't have been able to afford it :).

Oh, George, if you'd like some help from experts, check out www.avsforum.com - It's a HUGE forum that makes this one look like a private EZBoard, but it's very well run and the people are always very helpful.

The Angels at Boston is on INHD2 tonight. I'll be watching that if the Yankees game gets boring.

Sounds good. I go to school in Nashville, TN and found a bar where a bunch of Jets fans that live here go. Great place to watch a game and the 2 for 1 beers is always nice too.

You know it:)

With a New York ID you can just take a white pencil and change the date of birth and it works pretty well.
