LUCKY!

I'm taking a 3 day weekend (on monday i'm driving up to Yankee Stadium!), but I think i may leave early today.

I'm not doing ANYTHING.

Wish I was going to Vegas. :(
My friend was there last weekend. Blew 1300 bucks at a strip club. Idiot.

I was in the Monster Seats so I highly doubt the cameras made it up there. They said to say/yell/scream whatever you want during "action" so I'm sure they'll just dub over whatever crowd noise they actually want.

border bowl at Taco Hell is good if you like rice, chicken and salsa. Fiesta salad at Mickey D's is good as well. Or you could go for the big old cheeseburger if you feel like eating an artery barge.

There's always chinese - General Tsao's chicken - Yum

Yes, this week did go by rather quickly.

It was a very tough week for me. My mother passed away on Sunday Sept 19th, and this was my first week back to work.

I am also going down to the Jersey shore for the weekend, a trip I had planned before my mom's death. I had vaccillated about going away, but my mother's voice in the back of my head said " Go !! And have a good time, damn it ! ".

Here's to you, Mom.
I'll look for you in the sunrise on the beach, and think of you.

Sue, I'm sorry to hear about your mother :(. I think it's a great idea to go down to the shore -- it's always important to continue on with life in the midst of something like this. Your mother would want you to go... and I want you to play some skeeball for me ;).

And always remember, that it's the nighttime that makes you appreciate the beautiful days even more.

Just took a two hour lunch hour to go back to my house to get my sandchair (which I forgot to pack last night).

Two+ hours to go......... and then it's on the road to the shore, dinner @ the Yellow Fin on LBI (the bottle of Chardonnay is already chillin' in the car), and then to the house......... and possibly a walk down to the beach about 10 p.m.-ish, since I'm hoping they'll be enough moonlight to point the way.

If there's any wine left in my bottle of white, I'll drink a toast to my mother,( God's newest angel ), on the beach !

This week went fast... no it didn't, maybe it went slow. Oh, nevermind. It was a normal speed week for me :). Regardless, I'm glad Friday is here.

On to another weekend that's gonna go way too fast...

Have fun w/ your woman, YC22.

I'm in NYC today at a print vendor...hopefully I'll be done between 2-3 so I can be back through the tunnel before the traffic gets nuts...can't wait to get started on some martinis -- tonight is ladies night out for a bunch of us girls -- a reunion from my old job about 4 years ago...might as well start now! :gulp:

Same here, and now I have to get a damn costume for tomorrow and I'm sure there's nothing respectable left in the stores. &po'd&

I feel like I post the same thing every Friday......

Can't wait to start painting!! :D :highly sarcastic:

Seriously though, even though I'm painting I have no other plans besides recovery and rest.

Yeah that too. Arghh.:O Although I love Halloween parties it's annoying to go get a costume especially when I, like you, wait until the very last minute.

FL - are you repainting the Sistine Chapel or something? I feel like you have said you are painting for the last 6 months.

Thanks.

Only 4 hours to go for me! The longer she waits around, the less happy she is to see me. ;)

And Jim, I know you think I leave early every Friday (I probably do). :)

Last Friday I was still pretty wacked out.

Today, after 8 full days of recovery, I'm starting to feel like I'm gonna be ok pretty soon. I have a doctors appt on Tuesday and am due back at work Wednesday. So next Friday I should be back to counting the minutes with everyone.

Happy 5 pm everyone.

5pm? I'm out of here at 3:00. :P

Two of my coworkes just took a 2.5 hour lunch, so I'm gonna leave even earlier in retaliation!

Sigh. What a crappy week this has been! I've been sick every day, my girlfriend is going away this weekend, and I won't even get to talk to her, and my commutes have been complicated by the DC Metro train crash on Wednesday.

Good riddance to this week. I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow, rather than getting up when I feel so sick. :(

I definately don't want to work today

Friday! Yee-ha!

Not a single plan yet for this weekend (except for a wake on Sunday) so this is gonna be a spur-of-the-moment weekend for me. :gulp:

This has been a weird week for me. Both my supervisor and the HR/payroll lady have been on vacation all week, and the big boss has only been here 1.5 days, leaving me here alone with the executive secretary who leaves at 3 every day. Normally, under these circumstances I'd be leaving at 3:05 every day (the secretary is a tattle-tale), but I've had so much work to do I've been here until 7 or 8 (or even 10 one night) all week.

I don't have anything going on this weekend, so unfortunately this Friday just seems like any other normal day to me.

A three day week, as I'm back to work. Wednesday & Thursday were tough to make through. I went home each day and crashed for about 90 minutes each evening right after dinner.

I'm still having a bit of trouble sleeping for long periods of time, so it's been a bit rough. Three hours to go until I can go home and get some more rest.

Only plans for the weekend are to go down to Delaware to see my brother and his wife and their new little baby boy. That'll be nice.

It's not like a weekend at all for me. I've got 3 projects due for class by Sunday night, I've got to rake leaves and clean house. And I've got to work tonight in Ithaca which is about an 1 1/2 hour drive so I won't be getting home until midnight

Thank God the corner bar is open 'til 2am :smokin:

Thanks. I'm gonna try to keep my mind off of her. It's just weird.... it feels strange that if I want to or need to get in touch with her, I can't, and that if she needs me, she won't be able to reach me... and it's that which is causing a bit of anxiety.

I'd just like to go home and rest, to be honest!

She is going upstate NY to Hunter Mt. with a friend, but there is no cell phone reception for Verizon apparantly unless she is standing "in a certain spot on the deck".

I'll find out for sure later, but I'm not anticipating.

I don't know if there is a landline phone available.

I didn't participate in the Friday thread last week, since I was out of the office, so today I am starting it.

To me, this week was cruising along pretty well, but when I got home yesterday, it felt like the week was over. It's always a crushing disappointment to have one more day.

This should be an easy day for me. I don't have much to do. Unfortunately, though, those are the boring ones. They seem to drag.

I was out of the office last week too. In a seminar that lasted way too long.

This week was really long and next week we get to do 5 days of work in 3 days... not too easy, but when I walk out the door next Wednesday, it'll all be worth it.

5.5 hrs to go.

I had a job once where they made us come in on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I was so pissed. It was an office job for a specialty cheese manufacturer, and none of the suppliers, customers, truckers, or even the friggin factory in Wisconsin was open. There was nothing I could do all day. It was miserable.

Being in the Financial Industry, I am now in a position where if the NYSE is open, I have to be here (Oh the Joy!). I took the Friday off after Turkey Day though as I'll be with my girlfriend.

For many of us today is in effect... Friday.

My Company has gererously allowed us to work on the Friday schedule (9 - 3 as opposed to 8:30 - 5). That's good news and on top of that, there is an unconfirmed rumor that they may let us leave even earlier.
Every time I get an e-mail, I'm hoping... :D

At worst I have 3 hours and 15 minutes to go.

I hope you all get to leave early as well. Happy Thanksgiving!
