SAN DIEGO (ESPN.com)-- A baseball with a signature of Mother Theresa were among the items on display Wednesday when the FBI shows off hundreds of seized autographed sports memorabilia, all of which is fake.
The sting carried out by the FBI was called "Operation Bullpen." Sixty different search warrants were conducted in 14 states and represents 26 guilty pleas.
On display will be signed bats, balls, jerseys, lithographs, hats, gloves and other things, all with fake autographs.
The FBI estimates 50 percent of sports memorabilia sold in the United States is fake. To make this point, all of the confiscated items came with letters of authenticity.
