I can't take it anymore!! I need the season to start NOW!! I am totally jonesin' for a trip to the stadium...you know, sitting in traffic on the GWB, fighting my way through traffic down Gerard Ave, making my own parking space up on 163rd Street by the park...walking to Stans, overpaying for some "liquid refreshment", walking past the sidewalk cafe-dodging homeless guys playing the saxophone, walking into the stadium, buying a hotdog and just sitting there, waiting for the game to start.

And then watching the game, listening to Eddie Layton "tickle the ivories", hearing Bob Sheppard announce all the players, trying to figure out from which direction Freddy's pot banging is coming from...standing and screaming like a madman every time the ball is hit well, or one of our hurlers gets out of a jam by striking someone out...

Damnit, I NEED BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately for me...I'll be watching the Yankees in just over a month...ala...Spring Training!
The Yankees have a fantastic stadium in Tampa...

Jim F

Yes, they do...I had the pleasure of going there last year. Talk about a beautiful facility...

I 99.9% sure that I'm transferring to Univ. of Tampa next semester, one of my prime motivators is Spring Training. I might even get there this year again if I'm lucky.

I can't wait for the season to start, either. I keep watching the same old baseball tapes, but the ending is always the same !! http://www.yankeesboard.com/ubb/wink.gif Well, I seriously can't wait for my first 4 hour trip to the city. I don't go to the GW bridge, I just go 87 all the way to the Major Deegan. Seems to be a bit faster for me.

Anyway, I hope to meet up with a few Yankee fans this year!! Keep me posted on days you all will be at a game!!

Quothe the Raven?

184th street to Audoban Ave. Left over the Highbridge. Right on Ogden. Left on 167th, over to Anderson. Right four blocks. Park on the hill. Walk across Jerome, under the overpass for the Maccombs Dam (say hi to the cops). Pick a gate to enter. Find my seat, relax, survey the field, wait patiently for the National Anthem. Never any traffic problems for this homeboy.

Hello fellow Yankee fans,

I never knew this place existed. It's good to see some of the folks who had to unfortunately leave the other site. I think I may be hanging in here from now on.

Hey A39, good to see ya bud. I totally agree with you on the "power trips" and "hypocrisy" in that other place. Brewski's on me anytime.

Well, I'm done discussing the past. I'm ready for some baseball too.

Can't wit for that first tailgate...

Yankeeg, so I see you're from Brooklyn too... and now you're stuck http://www.yankeesboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif in trenton... When my folks moved us to jersey I ran away for like a week and a half before I caved... I made some good friends out there, so it wasn't all bad, and I don't know that I would went on to college if I woulda stayed in BK so I guess I t was worth the trip, but I still love Brooklyn and am glad my folks finally moved back a year ago...

We definitely gotta hookup for a brew and game... hey ever been to Brewski's Brewery Bar on the lower east... GREAT bar if you want to taste REAL brews from across the globe... Belgian, Chzech, Scottish, Irish brews from all over the globe and none of that "lite" stuff, (no knock bthl http://www.yankeesboard.com/ubb/smile.gif )

welcome, and later,

Funny.....

I received a couple of multipage (yes I AM serious) emails from a moderator at another sight after I dared to disagree with him.

I did not take the time to read it all but I saved it in case I am ever boared. The letters seem to be half apology and half defensive "paranoia",.....

Thank you for the above posts. Now I at least know that I am not alone.

My only "sin" at the other sight was defending YANKEE fans from a rude low class mets fan. I am not even a "Mets hater". I happen to be a Yankee fan but I figure everyone should enjoy what they want to in life.

Oh well....I should not dwell on the negative. Once again thanks for the invite.

Perhaps I shall not bother to answer that "moderator's" emails.

Long winded you say seahorse? You should check out the pro-smoking posts he's put up lately. In comparison, ansky39 would look speechless, and we all know that ansky can post 'em long when he's in the mood. He can't hold a candle to domoderator over there. Found out by accident that he's reading all the stuff on here too. Can you say "paranoid?"

I was reading some posts over there, and I was astonished at the lies that he was telling. He had an entire topic dedicated to the new "Top Of The Line" software that they'd be getting for the forum, and that it would be happening "very soon". I know for a FACT, that the UBBEE is nowhere NEAR completion, and won't be released for at least another 6 months. He also seemed to know about all the features that it had, but Infopop (the mfg. of UBB) has been extremely secretive about what it will be.

Every topic that I saw from him, it seemed that he was making up for that forum's shortcomings somehow. Whether it be about smilies, or the newest version of the UBB or whatever. He is paranoid about things, and he should be. He has turned the Yankees Forum into a literal crap box. It is unfortunate that I had to come in and pick up the pieces.

Anyhow, let's go Yanks!

We take the Yankee Clipper over to the Stadium, and you guys have GOT to try it, it's the only way to get to the Stadium from Jersey, or from the East Side.

I can't wait to hear the sounds of the overpass tunnel by the Bat. The guy with the flute playing the theme from the Addams Family, everyone in the tunnel yelling LET'S GO YANKEES, and then banging on the tunnel wall in response THUMP THUMP THUMPTHUMPTHUMP. Yes, waiting for Freddy Sez and his "lucky frypan" as he calls it, with the shamrock painted on it. And then, finally, Bob Shepard, the magical voice of Bob Shepard......"Good Afternoon....Ladies And Gentlemen.....Welcome to Yankee Stadium......" Eddie Layton playing New York, New York, my favorite beer guy coming down the aisle yelling "OK, the fleet's in! Beeh heah! Who's ready for some Cousin Brewskie!!?"........And then....."the Yankees take the field!", to the classic theme song of the Yanks ('We are the YANKees, let's get in line to cheer the YANKees"...).

God, it's great to be a New York Yankees fan.

I've never taken the ferry to the Stadium. I've thought about it before, but I've heard the way back stinks, being the last stop and all. I wish NJTransit went directly in; that would make life absolutely perfect. Driving isn't bad, but sometimes it can be a big pain in the but, with the GWB and all. Thanks go to KFP & Seahorse, because last year there was a thread that everybody put their favorite way to get in by car, and I combined both of their routes, to get the ultimate way in.

Anyhow, maybe I'll take the ferry over this year, just for kicks... http://www.Bronx-Bombers.com/ubb/smile.gif
