Who is everyone's favorite Yankee (who doesn't currently play) of all time? My favorite the Great Yankee Clipper, Joltin' Joe, Joe t-- ok, you get the idea.

Where have you gone, Joe Dimaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes on you...

Who started baseball's famous streak
That's got us all aglow?
He's just a man and not a freak,
Joltin' Joe DiMaggio.
Joe, Joe DiMaggio, we want you on our side.

He tied the mark at 44, July the First, you know
Since then he's hit a good 12 more,
Joltin' Joe Di Maggio.
Joe, Joe DiMaggio, we want you on our side.

From coast to coast that's all you hear
Of Joe the one man show.
He's glorified the horsehide sphere,
Joltin' Joe DiMaggio.
Joe, Joe DiMaggio, we want you on our side.

He'll live in baseball's Hall Of Fame,
He got there blow by blow.
Our kids will tell their kids his name,
Joltin' Joe DiMaggio
Joe, Joe DiMaggio, we want you on our side.

We dream of Joey with the light brown bat.
And now they speak in whispers low
Of how they stopped out Joe.
One night in Cleveland, oh, oh, oh,
Goodbye streak DiMaggio.
Joe, Joe DiMaggio, we want you on our side.

Although, I like Lou G just as much... I just put up my 8x10 signed pic of Joe D, it has given me inspiration to do so much around here!

Jim...I actually have a copy of that "record"...belonged to my mom. I really hope no one ever breaks his streak. I have to say though, Gehrig was my absolute favorite. Whenever I read his career stats, I am awestruck at what he accomplished. When you see the lifetime average, and how MANY times he drove in OVER a 150 runs...it's just incredible! He was larger than life...still is in my eyes.

Everyone should go to that site, and just read the career stats and highlights...unbelievable, simply unbelievable! I also recommend all Gehrig fans read the book "My Luke and I" by his wife. It is a heartwarming book that brings to magnificent life, the man, his pride and courage, and the love of the woman who inspired and helped him in so many ways. A must read for all Lou fans.

What a cool pic, Russ! Reminds me of the motion card I have of his 500th homerun. What a swing he had.

I like DiMaggio, Ruth, Mantle, and Munson, but I'd have to say my favorite is the Iron Horse-Lou Gerigh.
