Don't worry. That 91.67 is probably 2/3rds of my final score this week. :)

Slow start, but I am optimistic.

Glad I'm not playing the Linguists: with one exception his entire active pitching staff took to their respective mounds yesterday and did very well indeed.

LOL, Boz. I just put Acevedo on waivers in my other two leagues, anticipating the return of Mo tonight.

Hitman23
04-29-03, 08:24 AM
Well, Acevedo is going to be the setup guy now, right? I should credit for holds. Although I already have Felix Rodriguez doing that. Maybe I have some bait for a trade here. Anyone interested in a setup guy?

SanFrANSKY
04-29-03, 02:14 PM
The best thing for Felix (and for that matter the Empire) is for him to get traded and to become a closer.

If you're lucky, the Red Sox will make a deal for him and send Hillenbrand to San Francisco.

And if Hillenbrand bats in front or behind Barry, I'll be even happier. :D :D

but where would hillenbrand play???

Here's the infield for the giants:

1B: J.T. Snow
2B: Ray Durham
3B: Edgardo Alfonzo
SS: Rich Aurilia

would he be an outfielder? i seriously doubt it..

Figures...the way my pitching luck has been going this year...I drop Jose Vizcaino and add D.J. Carrasco, who had allowed just 2 ER in 11.1 IP this year, with 11Ks in 7 GP. So what happens in his first appearance for the Lous?

1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 1 HBP.

Thats because I got THREE loses in one day. I hate my pitching staff. Five appearances by my staff total, and not one of them had a good outing.

That makes two of us. I got two losses yesterday and my staff has a record of 2-9 the last week. I have no hitting, no pitching, and if I were that kind of person, I would have long became an alcoholic. Don't worry, my team will find a way to screw me over, week after week after week...:gulp:

I might actually be able to make a game of it against patrick.o this week. I'm just twenty points behind, with Mussina and Halladay still to pitch this week, with another outing to come from Redding, while Maddux and Wolf went for the Truth yesterday. Not saying I'll win, but this should be a closer one than most of my previous efforts.

Be seeing you,

Those are going to be some tough games on your pitchers, Sax. Moose should put up good numbers against Seattle, but Halladay is going against Texas (important battle, your Halladay vs my ARod, Palmeiro, Gonzalez, and Everett), Lackey is up against a surprisingly tough Toronto offense, and Redding is going against a pretty good Florida lineup. Meanwhile, I have Sheets tonight against an unspectacular Expos offense and Suppan Friday looking to bounce back againt the no hit Dodgers.

And I won't even mention that I'm leading the league in HRs, Rs, and RBI, and the HR gap is growing every day. ;)

Yeah, although your Rangers still teed off nicely. On the other hand, Lance Berkman may finally be coming around. This could be quite a close one, but I think your offense will carry you through. Still, fun to be competitive for a change.

Might as well enjoy it while I can. Having Halladay and Mussina starting simultaenously really helped, and hopefully Berkman's back to stay, but unless at least one of Lackey and Redding win for me in the next two days, I suspect patrick will still walk off with the win. LOL she gets to me all the time! That's why on weekends I do the scoreboard a little later, usually. I wait until she's in the shower and can't complain about me being on that "damn computer" again.

Damnit, I think I've let this one get away from me. Great matchup, patrick.

Be seeing you,

Yet another late week collapse by the Linguists. Three losses by my limp wristed pitching staff yesterday probably sealed our fate. I'll probably get two more today...

@#$%! Mesa. Knew he'd blow a few, but did it have to be THIS week??

Ohka looking to perhaps get traded. Or waived.

Giambi got a big hole in his swing. He says it's chilly out. Hey G, maybe it'll be a bit warmer on the bench!

Yeah, I might lose my first game since the beginning of the season. Hopefully Russ Ortiz gets snakebit and Rich's bats go soft. Probably won't happen.

I feel your pain, Phil. He probably had negative points for me. I'm really starting to believe that middle relief is the way to go. Those -7's can't be made up in a week by a closer.

Yeah Patrick. I'm at the point where I'm OVERJOYED at just breaking even in my pen. My team is doing bad enough without actually losing points. ONE bad pitch can do irrepairable harm for the entire week, and the upside just isn't there. You need a closer to pitch a perfect ninth with three K's to get 7.5 points. It just doesn't even out.

I considered this when I drafted. Based on last year's stats with this year's points structure, the top setup guys' total scores were in line with Mesa's. So I figure it's a wash.

Oh well, I see D'Angelo started hitting again, might just work out after all.

I think it's going to be pretty close with me and ice too :) I had a 30 point lead coming in, but i've put up less than 20 points so far, and Mike Cameron did just about that himself!
