Watch out folks- cuz the ducks are comming to town! Today, we defeated #8 Washington State in OT by blocking their field goal. The game was shown only on closed circuit tv in the campus area and at McArthur court (the basketball stadium) on big screen Tvs. My dad and his buddies and I went to Mac court and watched with 2 thousand other 'quackers' as Oregon looked like crap for 3 quarters, and we trailed by 1 goddamn poin thru 2 quarters. Finally, we tied it up just so we can go to OT, promptly score a 47 yard field goal, and then block Washington's 30 yard attempt.

It's about time Oregon schools had something to be excited about. Imagine the Civil War Game being for the rights to the Rose Bowl. Unthinkable. By the way, make sure, in your synopsis, that you differentiate between "Washington" and "Washington State." You should never confuse Cougars with Huskies, just the way that the east coast media should figure out the difference between Eugene and Corvallis. Sorry--but I've got to back OSU in "the big game." [My brother went there].

Believe me-WSU is the lesser of the two Washington evils, the locals have some deep rooted hatred (compariable to our hatred of the Blow Sux) of the Huskies..why, some dude was burning little stuffed animals of huskies when we played them last month..crazy azz stuff I tell ya..

I had to resurrect this thread to tell you that the Ducks will finish a close second to Oregon State in Corvallis this weekend. That's right, no Rose Bowl for your Duckies, based on the way the two schools are playing right now. Unfortunatly, I also don't see WaZoo beating the Huskies, which would mean that the Purple Gang would have a date in Pasadena with whichever Big 10 team decides to play winning football this weekend.

I know what you mean with the burning stuffed huskies, I have a deep seated hatred of the NJ Devils ever since they were playing the Penguins in the playoffs years ago and some Jersey fans had a stuffed Opus the Penguin hanging from a scaffold!! :(

Outside of that, I have no opinion on Oregon or Oregon State - I like the Miami Hurricanes. But they both have cute nicknames.

Tomorrow is Saturday the 18th of November, and the Civil War is upon us. Bucky Beaver and the Gang are favored by 4 1/2 over the visiting Canards of Eugene. Look around you, haven't the Roses faded? OSU will make it consecutive victories over OU (at least at home). Have fun at the Sun Bowl or out on Oahu at Christmas. Pasadena is either Husky purple or the orange and black of Corvallis.

I understand the Ducks dropped all the way to #10 in the nation--PAC 10 is the only conference with 3 teams having at least 9 wins. The better team won on Saturday, but le Canard should end up in a nice bowl. At the beginning to the year 9-2 wouldn't have sounded so bad, but I must admit, 10-1 for Bucky Beaver and the crew sounds a bit better.
