Germany will take home a lot of medals from Salt Lake City this year, and rightfully so because they've dominated the winter games, but I'm afraid the cinderella story their hockey team has written will come to an end tomorrow when the USA hands them their heads!
My prediction: USA wins 6-1

I don't think it will be as close as 6-1. More like 8-1. Especially after the smug comments the German coach made about the miracle on ice.

I think Herb Brooks said something along the lines of the Germans still being bitter about the outcome of WW2.

I kinda expected Germany to do well. In fact, I'm surprised that team USA is ahead of Austria and Norway. I guess home ice/snow really does count for something.
I'm pretty sure Germany will lose against the US ...
but hey... it's Germany and the US ...
who do we have in the NHL ?
Olaf Kolzig , Caps(doesn't paly at the Olympics!! )
Marco Sturm, Sharks
Jochen Hecht, Oilers
and some others.. not well known.. even in Germany..
I want to see a good match from our team... don't need a win .. but please not like 1:8 :D

Germany has 28 medals, USA has 21. We can catch up, and we will be getting #22 when we get the gold in hockey!

Hockey's semifinals are set. USA defeated Germany, who played well and put up a good fight in the first period. Russia edged out the Czech Republic in a battle of heavyweights. Canada squeeked past Finland by the narrowest of margins and Belarus, perhaps pulling off the biggest upset since the Miracle on Ice, knocked out Sweden courtesy of hard work, a little luck and a gift by swedish goaltender Tommy Salo, who with three minutes remaining surrendered the game winning goal on an 80 foot slap shot taken from the red line. It all makes for some exciting hockey to watch on Friday.

We are now only two medals behind Germany. Manyt of the events left have U.S. athletes/teams as contenders. Short track speed skating, hockey, long track speed skating, and slalom. Should be interesting to see who comes out ahead. Anyway, to say Germany is dominating when it only has two more medals than the U.S. is not accurate.

When this was posted, Germany had 7 more medals than the US. Since then, the US has closed the gap. But the Germans were dominating at one point.
