View Full Version : Why run when you can walk
Who holds the record for the most intentional walks in a season by a Yankees player?
How many was it?

Ruth I assume.
Where's my Baseball Encyclopedia?? I have to have that handy when I come to this forum!
Although I am fairly sure in the 20's the records didn't include IBB. You'd have to go to individual box scores and count them, if they cited them.
Mickey had 23 in 1957.

So, WHAT'S THE ANSWER??
Apparently, IBB weren't recorded until 1955, so I'd have to guess it'd be Mantle.
ELDuque, that was a good guess,
