What's the only single digit number retired in the Major Leagues?

I don't know what you mean. The Yankees have retired several. You mean ACROSS MLB for all teams??

I mean that there are a lot of single digit numbers retired with all the clubs.

But there is only one single digit number that is retired by one club and it is not retired by any of the other clubs.

Sorry that I wasn't to clear on the question.

Is itTorre's current 6 then?

The Yanks only have two single digits not retired...

Didn't Stan The Man and Kaline both wear 6?

There is only one number 7 that is retired, and that is by Mickey Mantle.

That problem will be solved in this decade. Yes, they may retire Jeter's while he's active and make him the last player to wear a '2'.
