You never know. Wade wasn't supposed to be anything last year and turned into a valuable piece up until the last couple of weeks or so.

He certainly looked good tonight. Just like Eppley, try and limit the amount of lefties he sees in an outing and he could be very useful.

When Andy and CC returns, Garcia will get dropped back into the pen too.

Losing to Mathis is not optimal.

Throw your slider significantly less, don't pitch more than an inning......and youll be serviceable.

I know he's just a stopgap, but Qualls is the kind of reliever I can't stand teams carrying. Journeyman with no upside, mediocre stuff, no positive platoon split. No redeeming qualities. DFA.

Not good. Don't think there is a point to keeping him. I usually never say this but surely there is someone out there who is better?

There's always another right-handed journeyman reliever out there. Cory Wade turned back into a pumpkin, so Qualls was worth a try. After he had sucked twice, they should have just dumped him for some other fungible reliever.

Tend to agree. Usually I like to give someone three chances but he's he those and sucked.

Same idea. The basic principle is that you don't give a guy like that many chances. Either he's good or he's not, and if he's not, there's always someone else to try.
