The last "Guess This Yankee" was Joe Dugan. Once i got the correct photo loaded he was indentified quickly. This one should be harder.

Hint: Utility Infielder that was born in Olyphant, PA.

Mike Gazella was born in Olyphant, PA and played in the era that the cap in that pic comes from. Otherwise, dunno if it's him.

Well, I didn't look this one up... it was the first name that popped into my head after I read it... god knows what either of them look like!

That's a good pic of Mike Gazella !!
The '27's are hard to find...

Mike joined the Yankees in 1923, after playing with Atlanta of the Southern Association, as a utility infielder. Heading into 1927, his third, he had a .221 career batting average with no HR and 21 RBI. He played 44 games at third base in 1927, committing four errors. He also played six games at shortstop. Gazella saw the bulk of his playing time early in the year when Dugan went down with a leg injury. He had seven multi-hit games in 1927. Gazella batted .351 (13 for 37) in April, his best month. He collected two of his four triples on April 15th during a 6-3 victory over Philadelphia. Gazella had career highs in AVG, 2B (8), and 3B (4).

** He shared the same birthday as Ben Paschal.

I used to think it was funny that my family all had funny ears that stuck out. My great-grandfather, all his brothers, my grandfather, all his brothers, my dad, my uncle, and all my brothers. Only my uncle Tim and I were spared the airplane-ears..

I guess I have a lot of relatives that played baseball, or it was something in the food.. cuz a LOT of those guys have "Simmons" ears :)

Yep, just call me Slip the Quick. :D

How about a photo of Ben Paschal?

Speaking of ears, Jorge must harken back to an earlier time!
