Folks - sorry if this is a redundant thread... I looked for a similar one prior to posting but couldn't find one. I have the new Yankeeography Set, but I'm looking for something that focuses on the dynasty years playoff runs. I was looking at The New York Yankees Fall Classic Collector's Edition 1996-2001 (http://www.amazon.com/York-Yankees-Classic-Collectors-1996-2001/dp/B0009PLM6M/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1217807708&sr=1-4) but it looks like it's unedited for the most part. Normally, I'd prefer that but I don't have as much time as I'd like to plow through entire games (that is, if I want to watch the '08 games :))

Does anyone know of a DVD set that does a good job of capturing the suspense and excitement of the ALDS, ACLS and WS runs from those years, with commentary and that right balance between showing entire games and only showing one or two clips?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone have Red Sox vs. Yankees: The Ultimate Rivalry (http://www.amazon.com/Red-Sox-vs-Yankees-Ultimate/dp/B000EQ5UUU/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1217807708&sr=1-9) DVD? Is it any good?

"MLB Vintage World Series Films - New York Yankees: 17 Championship Seasons 1943-2000" contains the official MLB world series films. It obviously covers more than the 90s dynasty, but they do cover the playoffs and world series.

The Ultimate Rivalry one is pretty good. I have it on DVD but haven't watched it in awhile. As I recall, it was pretty even handed.

Like MunsonNY15 said the Yankees 17 Championship Season is really good.

One thing about the Fall Classic Collectors Edition though, it has a ton of extras (including the Championship Season you would get listed above, but only for the 96, and 98-00 teams), and you can choose which inning or half-inning you want to go to during the games. So you wouldn't have to watch whole entire games if you don't wish to.

HeidiThanks Heidi and Yanksfan... Does the set you reference take you through the highlights of the game with commentary, or is it just the raw footage?

The actual TV broadcast.

So yes, I'm sorry but you will be subjected to Tim McCarver!

I am surprised that they didn't do what YES does on the Yankee Classics versions of postseason games, where they put on the radio PBP track over the network's TV telecast.
