I got to go Cano as TH. It could be Moose but haven't been enough occasions this year with a timely hit so I'll go offense. That got them rolling.
HM - Moose!
HM- Arod

and I agree, Meecham is brutal! bru- TAL

I disagree. After Bowa, I'd put Willie right up there. I remember during the championship years there was a sick stat given during one of the WS games that Willie had had only a really low (maybe it was even zero) number runners thrown out at the plate. Now of course that could happen if he never sent ANYONE, but that wasn't the case. I thought he was a very shrewd base coach. Certainly better than Bobby.

TH: Moose, of course. I have to look it up to be sure, but I think he's riding a streak of about 8 QS's in a row, if not more.

HM: Arod, Cano, and "Big Sexy" for doing what none of our regulars ever seem to do anymore.

A hit with RISP is such a wonder with the yanks this year he is trying to cash in while he can.

HM: Arod, Cano, and "Big Sexy" for doing what none of our regulars ever seem to do anymore. It was only his fourth in a row. On June 20th, he went eight innings but allowed four earned runs. Of course, the definition of a quality start is six or more innings pitched with three or fewer earned runs, for a maximum ERA of 4.50; and four earned runs over eight innings is an ERA of 4.50 as well; perhaps the definition of a quality start needs to be tweaked?

At any rate, he has eight quality starts in his last nine starts.

An above-average baserunner should be able to score from 2nd base on a 2-hop single to RF with 2 outs, or at least make it closer than it was. I'd be curious to see what kind of jump Alex got and how hard he was running to 3rd.

And not to just rip on Alex, because Jeter was jogging cautiously to 2nd base on Abreu's double until it went over Brown's head -- when there were 2 outs -- I think Derek forgot how many outs there were. Plus he was blowing bubbles again while going around the bases. It's a good thing Suzuki dropped the ball.
