I was looking at Rasner's starts and compared the good start he had on 5/21 to the crappy one he put up last night. Note on the pitch F/X graphs what I looked at was pitch type and ball/strike/contact (B/S/X on the graph), the graph is pitch speed vs horizontal break which allows you to see the individual pitches. Rasner throws a fastball 87-91 mph , his slider 84 to 86 mph, change up 82 to 84 mph and a curve.
I broke down the graphs to LHH and RHH and noticed two things. On 5/21 probably his beat outing his slider was excellent getting 11/12 for strikes (S+X) and his change up as well with 5/6 for strikes.

Against RHH his fastball and slider accounted for most of the strikes.

Now on 6-11 I only posted the LHH graph because he didn't face alot of righties that night and there seems to be no pattern. Now what I noticed was that on 6-11 his curve is dropping in for strikes but his slider got hit hard and he had a lot less fastball comand. 6/13 sliders he threw contact was made versus 4/12 on 5/21. The 6-11 slider seems about 2 mph faster and has less horizontal break as well as less vertical break (not posted).

Now should they have called for the curve more last light as that was falling in for strikes while the slider was getting nailed?
