This was well before my time, but isn't Kuhn considered to be a terrible commissioner?

I know...like I said I looked them up.

And 104 years after inventing it, he gets elected to the HoF....either he should have been elected for that decades ago...or it's not worth election. I mean...75 years after he dies??? Could you imagine Phil Rizzuto being elected to the HoF...in 2082???

The fact that Marvin Miller was not elected, again, is something he might actually wear like a badge of honor, if it wasn't so ridiculous and petty. Kuhn doesn't make a pimple on Miller's keister.

Dick Williams who was almost the first manager George Steinbrenner hired in 1973 after imcumbent Ralph Houk left.
Kuhn's main problem was he genuinely thought the commissioner's office is all powerful. It wasn't. He did some good things.World series games at night so the working guy can see them, fan voting at all-star games is okay, he tried to get baseball owners to hire African-Americans as managers with limited success (far more success than his NFL counterpart Pete Rozelle who never pushed the issue and the only NFL owner who did was his bitter enemy Al Davis). He fought bitterly against free agency but from 1976 to about 1992 you had all kinds of teams like Minnesota and Kansas City win championships. Not sure what he had to do with it but it started in his reign. But he shouldn't be in..the veterans committee is made up of management people and they put in their own.
