Not just Edwar. There's him, Scott Patterson and Justin Christian. The Yanks really do a fine job of scouting indy leagues. Maybe Artz continues that trend.

It's not really scouting. It's saying, "His stats are good. Sign him."

Yeah. I'm pretty sure they scout, too. Just looking at numbers would be foolish.

Maybe that was an exception? That seems sorta stupid to me--why not send a scout to actually scout and find good players. Numbers can be deceiving... Bean for example. Then again, if they suck you can just cut ties w/ them.

46 K/3 BB ratio might have caught a computer's eye. Wonder if this "Doc Edwards" is the former Indians' manager.

That article is a big time farce. It was discussed over at PP by Pat Teale. Mr. Price didnt do a very good job fact-checking

No hits in 5.2 innings and he is only 23 years old.

Any info on pitches and velocity? That article didn't mention his "repitoire."

That isn't exactly young for the SALLY league. Now, if he continues to do that in Tampa and Trenton, then I'd begin to get excited.
