Seattle is not going to make this easy. Somebody please convince me they are destined to take a slide.

Put it this way. We keep talking about having to be in front of Seattle, but really we have to be in front of EITHER Seattle or LA plus EITHER Detroit or Cleveland.

A look at the standings shows that Seattle is only a measly two games in the loss column behind LA. Those teams will play each other seven more times. Not to mention Seattle has five against Cleveland and three against Detroit.

If the Yankees play good ball, they will end up ahead of at least one team from each of Seattle / LA and Detroit / Cleveland. I have no doubt.

First trip to Yankee Stadium ever!

The last time I was at Yankee Stadium I was with some friends. I ordered a round of beers. I handed one to my buddy next to me and since he was obviously drunk I asked him if he had a grip on it. I let go and of course it immediately dropped to the ground, lol.

The last time I went to a Yankee spring training game was in Ft. Lauderdale. I went with a buddy of mine who was a known alcoholic. We finished a quart of Vodka by the seventh inning. I was so drunk and loud I heckled one of our own players and made him step off the mound. LOL. Unintentionally, I thought he was a Phillies player. D'uh, drunken stupor. One of the guys hanging at the game said "Now that's the way you yell!" one of my prouder moments. The things you cherish....

My friend went back to my van to sleep it off, forgetting to ask me for my keys. While he was attempting to get into my van jiggling the side window with a pen knife a cop pulled up. He told him to drop the knife. He said, "but it's just a little knife." Twice, the cop was not amused and arrested him, unbeknownst to me who came out after the game and waited drunk for my friend who was not to be found.

After awhile I figured the someone would want to check out why I was just waiting there so I decided I had to move, hopefully my friend would be back where we were staying. It took me two hours to find my way back on a trip that should have taken me 30 minutes. On the way back I get hungry so I stopped off at a convenience store and in my infinite drunk wisdom decided on getting a can of some unidentified mystery meat that I cut my hand wide open on trying to eat.

Thank God I didn't get pulled over. I don't know how. Perhaps God loves an idiot, that's all I got.

Why am I telling you this? Because right now I am drinking lemonade and Everclear. Some things never change. Even at 43.

Party on Mofo's!!! Life is beautiful, enjoy it!

When the M's roll into town it will be the last 3 days of 20 straight games (days) without a day off mostly due to them getting snowed out of 4 games in Cleveland earlier. They had a day off this past Thurs and will not see another one until they leave NY.

However, they scored an extra home game due to the snow out as one of the games will actually be made up in Seattle on Sept. 26 when Cleveland is in town. Seattle will be the "road" team at Safeco for one of the DH games that day.

It all happened so fast, not sure I can blame Mike Scioscia, their bullpen was pretty taxed after yesterday's DH and Thursday's late night game in Toronto, he needed Weaver to go 6+ . From the time Hinske singled to Ortiz's HR the total time was only about 10 minutes. Before he knew it the lead was lost.
